improve cardiovascular function now and prevent heart disease

Average healthy heart rate for 45 year old man?

One source says your heart rate (as an adult) should be 50-90 beats per minute. Another source say 60-80! Yet another source says you're "healthy and normal" if your rate is 70 BPM (beats per minute).

As another poster indicated, "healthy" may depend on your fitness level, medications, and health problems.

Normal, healthy heart rates can vary as much as 10-20 BPM depending on time of day, recent eating/drinking, even differences between sitting/standing/lying down.

My students take my heart rate for practice and I've found as a healthy 46-year-old my pulse varies from 55-80.

Not very helpful, I know, but there are so many variables here!
