In order to maintain a healthy cardiovascular system function it is important that you take good care of yourself. This goes far beyond just going on the latest fad diet, or walking around the block a few times a week. Instead it requires you to be an active participant in your own well being. It means that you have to take it upon yourself to learn the techniques and information necessary to stay healthy. Essentially it means that you have to stop hiding behind laziness, and begin to show a degree of initiative.
Pep talk aside, maintaining a proper cardiovascular system function is not complicated if you have the proper tools to get you off on the right foot. To begin you need to forget about 85% of what you have ever learned. Chances are most of your information has come from a marketing department and, as we know, this is not a reliable source of information. If you think that fast food is somehow healthier because it no longer contains trans fat then you have fallen victim to marketing speak, and are at a serious disadvantage.

It seems as though there is a modern-day plight of cardiovascular system diseases running rampant through many sections of the population. These diseases have always existed, however never at the rate at which they are now progressing. The combination of sedate lifestyles mixed with unhealthy foods has led to this modern-day plague of cardiovascular system diseases. Interestingly enough, along with the rise of disease incidence we have seen the rise of large pharmaceutical corporations and diet companies.
One could call this a coincidence, however one could then call those individuals naïve. If there is a sudden onslaught of large pharmaceutical companies releasing new drugs designed to combat cardiovascular diseases, and an onslaught of diet companies designed to combat bulging waistlines, why are people fatter and have poorer heart health than ever before? Shouldn’t it be the reverse? Indeed this conundrum has led many people to become jaded with the state of our health care system, as well as left people feeling disenfranchised by the diet industry. Are these industries not supposed to help us get better? Why aren’t we?
